The Basic Teaching Department is mainly responsible for teaching general basic courses. The Department consists of six teaching and research sections: Chinese, mathematic🍸s, foreign language, physical education, ideological and political education and cartography.
The Basic Teaching Department has a team of teachers with good theoretical literacy and rich practical experience. It has a faculty of 42 members, of whom 59.5% are young staff aged 40 or under, 66.7% are female staff, 87.5% are professional teachers with master's degree or above, and 25% are of senior professional and technical titles. In 2014, the Department was awarded the title of Shanghai Women's Civilized Post, and has been awarded the school's advanced collective many times. Three teachers won the Shanghai Gardener Award, and many of the teachers were granted the school's outstanding teachers and outstanding young teachers.
